The server no longer exists now that the initial L4D2 rush is over
-FAP- now has its own L4D2 server. (You must be in FoFAP for this to be of use to you.)
You can join a game in progress in the server by going through the main menu. All you have to do is click on steam group servers, followed by a click on the FAP server.
To get your lobbies to join the server (and to switch modes) you need to put the command below into console (you can NOT open console while in the lobby, so you have to do it on the main menu).

Alternatively, you can put the command into your the autoexec file located at

*The above code will just be \Program Files\ for those with 32-bit systems.
If a group is already using the server, the game will behave as if that command was never in, and will find the best dedicated server. There is a good chance this server will be open though, as the first person has to be in the FoFAP steam group (it will go "friends only" OR "public game" after the first person, depending on what you set in the lobby).
